News Release
For Immediate Release
The Ozarks Transportation Organization announces a public comment period for the public to review and comment on the proposed 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP is a schedule of transportation improvements planned by various agencies in the Springfield Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) boundary over the next four years. To be eligible for federal funds, a project must be included in the TIP.
The 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program is available for review at The Library Center, 4653 S. Campbell Ave., the City Utilities Transit office, 1505 Boonville Ave., and the Ozarks Transportation Organization office, 117 Park Central Square, Suite 107 and online at www.ozarkstransportation.org. Comments may be submitted in writing to the Ozarks Transportation Organization, 117 Park Central Square, Suite 107, Springfield, MO 65806, faxed to (417) 862- 6013 or emailed to staff@ozarkstransportation.org.
The public comment period runs from July 3, 2009 through August 19, 2009. The OTO Board of Directors will review the draft TIP, at its August 20, 2009 meeting, held from noon to 1:00 p.m. in the fourth floor conference room of the Busch Municipal Building, 840 Boonville, Springfield, MO. An opportunity for public comment will be available at this meeting. After reviewing recommendations and considering public comment, the OTO Board of Directors will decide whether to formally adopt the 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program.
This public notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comment on the TIP will satisfy the program-of-projects requirements of the Urbanized Area Formula Program. If no comments or changes are made to the program, the program as proposed will be the final program.
