Federal Functional Classification Change
Pursuant to §470.105.b, the State of Missouri, in conjunction with OTO, must maintain a functional classification map. This map is different from the Major Thoroughfare Plan which is part of the Long Range Transportation Plan. The Federal Functional Classification System designates Federal Aid Highways, i.e. those eligible for federal funding. Please see the FHWA Functional Classification Guidelines for additional information.
The application below is intended to serve as the process for changes to the Federal Aid Functional Classification. OTO accepts changes to the functional classification system at any time, but also formally requests changes once per year. For this round of requested changes, we ask that applications be submitted by November 7, 2014.
