The Chadwick Flyer Trail is a regional trail that will connect Downtown Springfield with the Ozark Community Center in Ozark, MO utilizing the historic Chadwick Flyer Railroad Corridor as inspiration. It is a part of the adopted 2017 Ozarks Transportation Organization’s Regional Trail Study. Current plans are focusing on the twelve-mile trail alignment between Sunshine Street in Springfield and the Ozark Community Center. The City of Ozark and the City of Springfield have also approved and adopted segments of the Chadwick Flyer Trail as a part of their respective Parks & Recreation Master Plans. The first segment of this trail was constructed in the City of Ozark through a public-private partnership with Olde World Estates. The first segment of this trail in Greene County will be under construction in early 2023.

On November 15, 2022, Ozark Greenways, Ozarks Transportation Organization, City of Springfield, City of Ozark, and Springfield-Greene County Parks are hosting the Chadwick Flyer Trail Showcase at the Lake Springfield Boat House at 5324 S. Kissick Ave, Springfield, MO from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

The meeting will be a drop-in style and the public is invited to come at any time during the advertised hours. All interested persons will be given the opportunity to view exhibits, provide input by completing the optional survey, ask questions regarding projects, see progress to date, and view preliminary plans of the first phase of the trail to be constructed in Greene County.
